What is backflow?
Backflow happens when water flows in the wrong direction and can carry contaminants into the drinking water supply. A backflow prevention device helps protect the supply, but it needs testing and maintenance to keep working properly.
Is your annual test due?
If your property has a testable backflow prevention device, check the testing and reporting requirements with your water authority. For example, Yarra Valley Water requires testable devices at the water meter to be tested every 12 months, with the results submitted to them.
