Gas log

Sound familiar?

  • The heater won’t start, or starts then cuts out
  • It’s blowing cold air, or some rooms never warm up
  • Banging, rattling or whistling noises
  • A yellow or flickering flame instead of a steady blue one
  • Your gas bill has jumped for no obvious reason
  • You can’t remember when it was last serviced

Gas log fires and fireplaces are some of the most common jobs we do, including faults other plumbers have called unfixable.

Repair or replace?

If your heater is old, or a repair would cost more than it’s worth, we’ll tell you straight and give you options. We won’t push a new unit you don’t need.

“I now have peace of mind that my gas heater won’t leak after a proper clean and testing.”

Common questions

How often should my gas heater be serviced?

Energy Safe Victoria recommends a service by a licensed gasfitter at least every two years. Older heaters, or homes with young children or elderly family, are worth checking every year.

Why do you test for carbon monoxide?

A heater can look and sound normal while spilling carbon monoxide. The only way to know is to test it, so we test on every gas service at no extra cost.

Can you fix a gas log fire another plumber said couldn’t be fixed?

Often, yes. Many “unfixable” faults turn out to be a worn part or a blocked pilot.

When is the best time to book?

Autumn. Booking before the first cold snap means shorter waits and no cold nights waiting for a repair.
